Autumnfest XXVII is Here! – Fun, Food and Fellowship!

After months of preparation, our annual Parish Festival begins today.   With over 1,500 square feet of Food Booths, 20 games booths with activities for all ages, entertainment from community members and organizations in and around Los Alamitos, and more carnival rides than ever before, AUTUMNFEST XXVII has something for everyone.   Whether you’re looking to fly high and upside-down over the Parish blacktop or just sit back and enjoy the tastes of homemade sweets, join the thousands of members of the St. Hedwig community and help our Parish meet our fundraising goals to support our Parish Ministries and Parish School.   Your Autumnfest XXVII Executive Committee and all our Committee Members thank you for attending this year’s event

9/23/2012 -Autumnfest XXVII – 19 Days and Counting until our Parish Celebration!

Volunteers: Sign up Sundays begin this weekend.  Whether you want to sign-up in person or in the comfort of your own home, we have both options now available for you!   Beginning this weekend and continuing on the weekend of September 30th and October 7th, your Autumnfest Committee will have individuals outside the church to assit you in finding the perfect position for you to volunteer at Autumnfest XXVII. Bring your calendars and sign up!  Adult and teen volunteers are needed to work in the food and game booths, help with set-up and clean-up and assist in many other areas of operation. You also have the option of using our online volunteer scheduling program. Just a few simple steps and you will be set!  Click here to get started.  You will be prompted to enter some basic personal information, then you can select the desired volunteer “Job” from the list provided and you’re set.  A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you to confirm you selection.

Pre-sale Ride Tickets are now on sale after all weekend Masses.  You will save significantly by purchasing these pre-sale tickets and the parish receives a greater share of the profits! Each sheet of pre-sale tickets is $30 and contains 20 tickets – one ticket per ride; $1.50 per ride (same cost per ride as last year). If you purchase tickets at the event – you will need to purchase 3 to 4 tickets for each ride. This will cost you between $3 - $4 per ride – depending on the ride and the volume of tickets you purchase. Please buy presale – and encourage your soccer, football and other neighborhood friends to buy presale as well. Presale ride tickets are available after all weekend Masses on the patio; at the school office between 8-4 during the week through October 11th; in front of the rectory Thursday 10/11 (1:00-5:00) and Friday 10/12 (9:00-5:00). We have arranged with our ride company to bring more rides and new arcade style games to maximize your fun!

Vintage Nook Clean out your closets and find those hidden treasures.  Collections will be on Thursday, October 11th starting at 1:00 pm in Quinn Hall; Friday, October 12th all day. Gently used items are most appreciated! 9/01/2012 - Autumnfest XXVII Information Coming to a Mailbox near You!

This year’s Autumnfest is only weeks away and your Autumnfest Committee is very excited about the changes in store for the St. Hedwig Parish community.  More rides, more games and more ways to get the best value and increased chances to be part of this Annual Parish Fundraising Event.  Of course you will have a chance to win $10,000.00 in our annual raffle, but this year you will have a chance to maximize your participation by taking advantage of our new “Family Sponsorship” packages.  This sponsorship opportunity will include exclusive benefits including ride and food tickets, as well as community sponsor gift cards, a limited edition Autumnfest T-Shirt, and recognition in the Parish bulletin.  Information regarding all the ways you can assure the success and years’ Autumnfest can be found in a mailing arriving at your home this week.  Please act quickly as many of the opportunities included in the mailing have a submission deadline of September 21st!   Make sure to check out the Facebook page to keep up with the latest information.

8/23/2012 - Carnival Ride Provider Contracted for AUTUMNFEST XXXVII

St. Hedwig Parish has contracted once again with Guadagno & Sons to be the official Carnival Ride provider for the 27th annual AUTUMNFEST celebration scheduled this year on October 12, 13 & 14, 2012.   New to the AUTUMNFEST family last year, Guadagno & Sons has been servicing schools, churches, city events, civic groups, fairs and fraternal organizations in the Southern California area for 55 years.   As part of this years’efforts to increase the enjoyment of AUTUMNFEST attractions, Guadagno & Sons has agreed to increase the number of “Spectacular” rides for the event and to include two new rides that are new to their inventory.   Although more details on the specifics of the rides will be featured soon, we can announce today that fan favorite “Gravitron” will be returning to this years’ AUTUMNFEST.
